In order to flexibly respond to such needs, the Sumioka Foods Group has enhanced its development and manufacturing system that can respond in detail to small-lot production of various products. We will continue to accurately grasp the trend of the times and provide safe, delicious, and diverse new food products while making the best use of the traditions we have cultivated over many years in order to meet all the needs of our customers.

History

Kouka1846: Moved from the present-day Okaba-cho, Higashi Ward, Hamamatsu City to the current location (Wago-cho, Naka Ward, Hamamatsu City) to run a vegetable oil manufacturing business using power from a water turbine.
MeijiMay 1910: Switched to a noodle-making business on the premises of the current Headquarters Factory by Teiichiro Sumioka, the CEO from two generations ago, and started producing and selling dried noodles.
ShowaApril 1951: Started rice sales business
February 1956: Took over the family business by Sohei Sumioka, the previous CEO
November 1962: Started selling instant noodles
January 1963: Started producing instant noodles (non-oil treatment)
February 1964: Started producing instant noodles (oil treatment)
June 1965: Established Sumioka Foods Corporation (capital: one million yen), and separated the Sales Department.
August 1966: Built an additional factory and expanded instant noodle-producing equipment
March 1967: Took over the Manufacturing Department by Sumioka Foods Corporation after abolishing the business to consumer
February 1972: Modernized dried noodle-producing equipment, and doubled the manufacturing capacity
September 1972: Increased the capital to four million yen
November 1977: Established Enshutenobe Corporation, an affiliated company
August 1983: Renewed instant noodle (oil treatment) producing equipment to the state-of-the-art equipment
February 1987: Started manufacturing health foods, etc.
HeiseiMay 1993: Started the operation of the Takaoka Factory
December 1994: Increased the capital to 28.6 million yen
August 1996: Started the operation of the new Headquarters Factory
March 1997: Expanded the Takaoka Factory, and doubled the manufacturing capacity
November 2000: Remodeled the Takaoka Factory to enhance the manufacturing capacity
November 2002: Established ES Foods Corporation, an affiliated company
June 2003: Toyohiko Sumioka assumed the position of the Chief Executive Officer
October 2003: Health Food Production Division acquired the certification of a certified organic production process manager
March 2005: Closed the Enshutenobe Corporation, the affiliated company (because the factory site was subject to buying out as a road site)
August 2006: Started operation of the Hamakita Factory
January 2009: Hamakita Factory acquired a Health Food GMP certification from Japan Health and Nutrition Food Association
November 2015: Launched operation of Hamamatsu Factory of the affiliated company, ES Foods Corporation
December 2016: Hamamatsu Factory of ES Foods Corporation, the affiliated company, acquired a Health Food GMP certification from Japan Health and Nutrition Food Association
May 2017: Headquarters Factory of ES Foods Corporation, the affiliated company, acquired FSSC22000 certification
